Most commercial bass drum beaters are very heavy and large, with nice looking, but dead feeling wood handles. They work adequately on the very large drums symphony orchestras can use in large concert halls but are too cumbersome for the smaller Bass Drums most of us play.
These bass drum beaters have smaller heads and can get a full sound without muffling the drum.
